My black leder hose is 48", so that is to spec. However, it didn't dissipate the heat enough to prevent the brass coupler and the red coiled hose beyond it from getting very hot, which softened the hose and caused it to burst. I brought this up to find if anyone else had this happen when using it continuously to fill 4 tires, which I would expect it to do with no problem, since it is rated for continuous duty and is a high end product.

I'm trying to find out if I have an issue with the compressor, if there was a change in the materials used for the coiled hose, or if this is to be expected. I'll definitely be getting in touch with the manufacturer about this.

Yah, lederhosen is nice, but I'll settle for a Bier.

My plastic lines are black. But I have no lederhosen. Or leader hose.

Never had an issue, filling up 4 33" tires from 25 to 60psi nonstop.

Followup and conclusion. I emailed Extreme Outback, the supplier of the compressor about my experience, got a reply the same day and the next was shipped a replacement hose assembly. Got it today, hooked it up in line with the existing black heat dissipating hose, for a total of 11' of leader hose, aired up 4 tires simulating field conditions, all worked great.

Extreme Outback was extremely responsive, really great customer service and product.

End of story, happy ending.

Does your system include a holding tank under the body? They are strongly recommended to smooth out pressure flow, and the air temp coming out of the tank will be way lower than the air temp coming out the compressor. It also forces the use of a section of pipe from the compressor to the tank which dissipates heat as well. My Magnum is to the left rear of the transfer case and the tank is forward of the twin starting batteries on the other side. A good run of pipe to cool the air.

I opted for the portable unit because 1) it's not exposed to the elements and 2) I figured it would be more versatile than if mounted permanently beneath the van. The downside is that it has to be taken out of the Deluxe box and clamped to the battery every time I use it, taking more time, but a tradeoff I am willing to make. A 4 gal. holding tank is sitting in the garage waiting to be installed, so that will add to the utility. Still a work in progress.
