Frame Crack

I have an SMB with the leaf spring four-wheel drive conversion done by Sportsmobile West back in 2012.

Today I was doing some routine maintenance in preparation for a trip. I was pumping some grease into the grease fittings on either end of the tie rod and drag link. I looked up and saw that there was a crack on the bottom and inside of the frame just behind the front leaf spring perch on the left hand side just forward of the sway bar mount and steering box. While I do some light welding and fabrication, I do not feel qualified to do welding repair on a frame.

I am looking for suggestions as to who could do this welding repair for me in the San Diego area. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If Agile Off Road won't do it, they might be able to point you in a good direction. Lot's of very good off road shops in SD, just based on proximity to Baja if nothing else.

You could also check with Weldtec Designs, in El Cajon.

I feel like someone else might have recently posted a similar issue.

I would be curious to know if the OP's cracks and the previous post were both in the same location on the frame.
