EddieTheVan, Did you make that door saver strap? i have to replace my passenger door since the wind caught it at a gas station while driving through Wyoming off the 80. Completely separated the panels and made it so i couldn't fully open the door, so this solution looks really good to help prevent this from happening again!

No I didn’t make them, my van was an old DHL van and they installed them on all of their delivery vans. You can definitely buy door saver straps though. There are a lot of options for Jeeps that would easily work:

Those are extremely slick and VERY useful. There's been a few threads here and on FTE too asking about such things but no one (including me) ever thought to look at Jeep parts.

I hate to be a buzz kill, but I have to say, the jeep ones are kind of wimpy and not designed for a heavy van door. Might try the older econoline style.

I found some heavy duty straps. Kind of expensive at $135 for the pair.
