I did this swap in my 2005. The later model grey color does not match the grey in the earlier model years. Doesnt seem like there would be that much difference but once installed the difference is obvious. Just a heads up.
A person can probably buy some spray on plastic dye or paint from ford maybe?

Been hoping someone that's done this swap would chime in, so bumping it again in hopes a member here with experience can contribute guidance...Steve posed a great question which would certainly help individuals such as myself ( ) move forward with a little more confidence in pursuing a set of replacement panels.

This would be fantastic. Definitely in for at least one set, possibly 3.

Why not just get yourself a 3D printer and make them as you get orders instead of paying someone else a small fortune to make bulk batch of product you may or may not get sold?

I’m really interested in this and wondering if you have already looked into having an injection mold made?
I came up with a project last year, a bottle cap/container called Captainer (I was able to apply and get the trademark for that name which I’m still pretty stoked about) to use Nalgene water bottles as everyday carry storage. The mold for the green cap pictured below would have been roughly $20,000 so I’m really curious to see if you have/know or a injection mold making company that you recommend.
Someone else mentioned 3D printing. I love the enter 3pro I have and it was very affordable and using PET-G filament works well for automotive interior parts. I assume you are very well versed in all of this already but just thought I’d comment.

Any chance you have a pic showing this? That might drive me nuts if that's the case.

Excuse the filth, its been parked since im doing the 4x4 conversion. You can see the dash color in relation to the door panel. The difference is pretty obvious when your looking at the entire dash and door panel versus threw a camera lens. Theres a huge difference.
I installed an engine dog house, beverage console, and door panels from a 2013 into my 2005 and they are all this same shade of grey.
I havent checked into it yet but im guessing you can possibly get some interior plastic paint or dye from Ford, then dye the door panels to match.

It seems like there is a lot of interest in the newer door panels (me included), would it be easier and/or more cost effective to build a pig tail that would connect the old style harness to the new style door panel?
