Mike, ever since I read Ben10281's thread on modifying the switch panel I've been intrigued with going to the newer door panels. I'd be interested in your improved switch panel as well.

On a different note: I'm still going to grab those fenders...

Cheers!

This isn't a project I anticipated tackling anytime real soon (also have considered the swap after seeing some of the pic's of the completed mod)
I too would be interested in a set Mike...prefer to get in on your offer now than wait for what I suspect may end out being a long list.

I have newer style panels for my 02 but haven't installed them because haven't had the time to do the electronics.
This could be the fix.

Good logic there. I finally have a reason to justify my choice. Thanks!

Gotcha. I was thinking just changing the door panel is probably possible but wasn't sure if the mounting points were different.

I’m all for more storage spots. Already put a brand new 09+ drink condole on and new knee panels which nice and new makes the door panels look less nice.
Just to be safe, any known increased clearances issues swiveling the seats when you put 09+ door panels on 2008 or older van?

I have always had to crack the driver side door to swivel my driver seat both with old and new panels, but once swiveled, I can close the door. Passenger side swivels fully with no door opening needed.

Ok I’ll take a pair of panels either way you go on the mirror switch. If you included the 09+ mirror switch and wiring or info on wiring I’d be happy to pay whatever you need for that leg work.

So if I’m looking at brand new Ford door panels it won’t matter how they describe it in terms of power windows, manual windows, power mirrors, manual mirrors just buy any 09+ door panel as long as it’s the correct color…right? Can’t really tell in their pics if a manual window panel actually has a predrilled hole in it.

Are you going to make your panels gray or black? I think the contrasting black would look more custom and tend to hide the dirt.
