I don't want my van stolen

So, I'm nearly off on a long road trip, Yesterday, after spending 40 minutes with my insurance agent, I came away feeling very underinsured. So, I got to thinking more about theft prevention. So far I've added an alarm system, fuel pump cutoff, gate type latches on the inside of the back and side doors, and a steering wheel lock. Today I ordered a Sourscing Bay GPS tracking device. This:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q6R ... ailpages00

All the reviews say it does what it's advertised to do. I've not done a tone of research on it, but once everything is hooked up it should text me if my van moves, allow me to shut off the fuel pump from my smart phone, and tell me where it is when it dies, or any other time. For under $50, I figured I couldn't go wrong. We will see..............

Anybody got one?

Is your insurance going to cover you for comp and collision in Baja? Progressive Motorhome insurance does as long as you have Mexican liability coverage.

I just renewed my MX liability policy today. $150.00 for the year for both of us - $500K liability, $50K legal assistance, $300 towing, $50K non vehicle accident coverage.

Ive never tried one, but the brake pedal lock seems like it would be a good safety device. It prevents the brake pedal to be depressed so you can't get it out of gear. Again, not sure how effective those are, but in theory it seems solid.

Definately not! I'll check Progressive, but in the past I have joined the Vagabundo Del Mar boat club and gotten a policy through them, it's not too expensive.

Have you looked at a Babaco Vehicle Alarm & Lock System?

http://www.babaco.com

These systems are specifically for Vans and have independent tamper proof locked 18gauge box for battery & security system.

Also Look at Boyo A-Pass Digital Keyless Entry Pad, go to ebay.

X2 on Progressive...

I just switched my trailer to them because they do full replacement cost including all permanent add-ons, with optional mexico coverage, for the same price as my State Farm coverage was (which was only depurated value of the trailer as equipped form the factory)

With who?

I suppose, after 20 years of travelling to Baja, I should get insurance this time.
