Re: Installing AMI Billet Tank Cover

Oh man...... good thing I didn't think this was going to be easy... Yes brushed would look good. Need to look at what other shiney bits I can see on the van.

I also need to think about lock or no. Originally I was planning on locking, but we now have a locking fual cap.

decisions decisions decisions

That was my 1st plan; bead blast and hit it with flat black (provided paint will not scratch off easy). I also was thinking about undercarriage spray but that might gather more dust over paint but a black type plating would be nice.

Re: Installing AMI Billet Tank Cover

Bead blast it and have it black chromed. Or bead blast it and sand in one direction (sort of a brushed effect) and then have it black chromed. With just a little effort you ought to be able to sink $40 or $50 bucks into what should be about a $2.98 rattle can job.

Re: Installing AMI Billet Tank Cover

Greg I also thought about a brushed look because I do have buffed out rims but the black seemed to fit better...you know, it just became another black and white issue

Re: Installing AMI Billet Tank Cover

I think you are right...... and we have black rims... and with all the other black on the white van, black may be the answer.

The only thing I wonder about it a black spot in the middle of that big white expanse on the driver's side of the van.
