JUST REIMBURSED:LEAKING HEATER CORE REPLACED IN 2008 SMB

While driving on the "HELL" road ( see "funny signs" posting) steam started coming up from my hood. I was coming from Saline Valley, had 20 more miles to go on the 40 mile dirt road and 40 miles to go on paved road to get to Big Pine. I was busy dodging rocks and not watching the water temperature. I added 3 gallons of water after cooling it down. I stayed over night with friends in Big Pine. In the AM there was a puddle under the passenger side of the front of the SMB but I could not tell where the leak was. I added another gallon of water and headed home. The SMB has only over heated that one time.

The heater core was leaking at 29,700 miles. I would like to submit the repair bill to Ford because it should be covered. I will work on how and if that can be done. Please let me know if anyone knows how to do that. I kept the leaking heater core. I payed to have it fixed rather than take it to Ford.

Note to self: keep a closer eye on the level of all fluids. If I had done that, I would have caught the leak sooner.

Angel

Call Jay Mento Angel. He will tell you what or if Ford will cover it.

JUST REIMBURSED FOR: LEAKING HEATER CORE REPLACED IN 2008 SM

THIS THREAD IS RAISED FROM THE DEAD (I could not find that smilie in the "view more smilies")

I just received reimbursement for my defective, under warranty, heater core from Power Ford in Tustin. Thanks to the Service Manager there! The Ford dealer in Costa Mesa said Ford refused to pay it.

Jay Mento said I had to go through a local Ford dealer and they would submit it to Ford Warranty Dept. When I told the manager in Tustin that payment had been refused, he said he knew how to submit it to get it paid

Angel,

You are one lucky lady!

Congrats on getting your money back after a dealer refused to warranty a repair.
