Locating gray and fresh water tanks

I would appreciate any input on locating fresh and gray water tanks beneath the floor. I'm negotiating on an '07 Dodge Sprinter 144" high roof cargo van, for a RV conversion. I would like to mount a non-pressurized fresh water tank and a gray water tank, preferably midships where the kitchen sink will be. I saw a plan showing a 22 gallon gray water tank mounted between the rail and sill on the passenger side.

While at the campground, I'll use a direct city water hookup to the faucet . Otherwise, I'll use a 3 way pump/faucet to pump from the tank. I'll use campground showers so my water needs should be minimal.

Pardon my ignorance, but a 22 gallon grey tank seems large since you plan not to shower.

I'm not familiar with Sprinters, you're likely better off asking SMB...please post your resolution.

I have a 17 gallon tank and I'd take the 5 extra gallons if space wasn't an issue. Still most people get by with 10, so it's probably personal need. I don't usually shower from the van, but if I'm on a long trip I don't want the level in my water tank dictate whether or no I do use the van shower.
