LP Tee

Has anyone with an LP tank mounted under their Sportsmobile added a TEE to run a gas line outside the van too?

You can do both, High pressure line and/or low pressure - different fittings available for each, and different locations to tap into to get either high pressure or low.
check out this recent thread - the last couple posts have a pic on how you can get high pressure valve mounted. High pressure needs to be plumbed prior to the tanks regulator, and low pressure after the regulator.
Any LP station in you area can provide advise, as well as RV Service locations - might be worth it to go talk to some of them for options & clarity:

I had my tank replaced over a year ago and at that time added both a high pressure line and an additional low pressure line installed - both run to to the back bumper and have quick connects at the ends...use them for my BBQ and Honda generator when needed.

What did it cost to replace the tank? Did you have it done at Sportsmobile?

I have one RV shop that I use occasionally because of their reputation & work quality (I'm on the East Coast so Sportsmobile and other reputable outfitters just aren't a viable option).
If I recall, the total for new tank, all new hoses & hardware came to roughly $1,700. No doubt someone that does it themselves could do it all for 1/2 that (if not less).

It depends on whether you want a high pressure (before the regulator) or a low pressure (after the regulator) line. Most LPG camp stoves and BBQs have their own, built-in regulator so, most likely, you'll want a high pressure connection. The quick connect LPG fitting installed on most RVs are low pressure so there are numerous posts on the RV forums that are frustrated that they can't use their camp stove or BBQ. Therefore my info relates to a high pressure connection.

If you have the room, there's relatively easy to install DIY solution called and Extend-a-Stay. In addition go being able to connect an external appliance, you can hook up an external tank for for LPG if necessary. Here's a video:

Extend-a-Stay is a brand name but similar units are available from other manufacturers, often in a kit with hoses:
