Hey Rob, maybe you can answer my question. Does your 01 have the newer panels with the bin at the bottom or the pouch like my 98s? I'd like to know when the change was. My 02 had the bins at the bottom.

So I’ve been wanting to do this since I saw this post years ago. Finally found 2 tan panels and started down the path.

I did mine a little different

Removed door tub using a vibratory tool to cut the melted plastic tabs off like 86Scotty did with drilling if them out.

I then cut the old door panel up to use a template to mark the hole locations.

After all holes were marked and drilled I used #8 screws and washers to screw into the remaining post from the tray.

I epoxy the center dividers to both the new panel and cubby.

Love the new panels.

Was not aware of this mod and those look great! Glad to see those panels get a second life.

What year door panels are these cubby’s from? I hadn’t seen this version rummaging around the yards. Either way, end result looks great.

I picked up a pile of door parts from a member and ended up with the same cubbies as eric installed in OP. While I enjoy the added storage, I kinda miss the option to rest a foot down in the step area on longer drives.

Thank you for the door panels! Would not be possible without them.

Wow, kudos to the OP!......who completely forgot that he had done this.

I now have a 2011 with the newer door panels and I have to say the ones in this thread are much better for storage than the new ones. You can't even fit a water bottle in the new ones.
