Mud Flaps AND Rock Sliders

Hey all - put on mud flaps and rock sliders and am posting pics. I purchased the mud flaps online from Pro Flaps. You have to buy the Lifted Truck Ford Flaps #105. The 105 flaps are for the front but I used them for the rear also because of the cutout it works for our lifted 4x4 SMB Ford Vans front and rear. A set of 2 is $116 each, so was about $250 w/ shipping, etc. The flaps are rugged 1/4 inch think heavy duty rubber but will flex some. They were modified to fit on the SMB.

The sliders are made of 2 x 4 by 1/8 inch box wall steel. The cross members are the same but 2 x 2 inch. It's all welded together and welded to the frame in 4 places each side. There is NO interference with removing/replacing anything under/attached to the van. The top of the slider was spray coated with bedliner spray-on so it's grippy when stepping on it. Everything was cleaned and spray painted and all ends welded shut - no water can get in the sliders.

Not just the mud flaps will prevent mud CAKING the side of my van. I sacrificed very little clearance and got great mud protection from the sliders too - and body protection of course. The cross members are angled up higher than the frame so they provide no clearance issues. In addition, because the sliders stick out just flush with the bushwackers, they provide an excellent foothold for ingress/egress and a platform for standing on to clean, etc.

Really nice work! Did you do all that in your driveway? Looks like you put in quite a few hours on your back.

Re: Mud Flaps AND Rock Sliders

Thx -

There is a shop nearby and the owner is a real car guy and can fabricate anything. So we came up with the design and he did it. There was a lot of labor involved so it wasn't cheap even tho' I got a discount.

Re: Mud Flaps AND Rock Sliders

Do you have the grey water tank along the passenger side frame rail?
If so, how did you clearance the tank? Mine hangs down a little farther than the lower rocker.

Great work by the way!
