Deaver Springs and shocks

Today I put the Bilsteins on the front. Much better ride..firmer with more control. I have not done the back because its a nightmare to get to. I will tackle it in a few days. I had to make special shims for the front( not to difficult). Overall the ride and handling have improved 200%. You will love this upgrade.

Steve

Whats the hurry!! I WILL NOW GO 10 MPH!!!!! I Emailed you about theMojave Road. Did you get it?

Jeff

10MPH is a 100% improvement not 200%

(I saw your email and forgot to reply. I just did.)

Ride and handling

The ride and handling improved 200% MPH refers to speed..

Jeff,
Which Bilsteins did you buy (compressed and full length as well as valving)? Want to order up a set from e-shocks and go from there. Thanks.

Bilsteins

Well the Bilsteins I've got did not work out.

The front ones are too long and the rear ones are too short..

I'am working on getting it right..

That's a drag. Please let me/us know when you get it figured out as I'm waiting with baited. I think that's all I need right now, suspension-wise. Thanks.

OME? are you talking about the Old Man Emu shocks and if so how did you determine they are shot?

OME shocks

If its easy to compress the shock( it has to be off the van) then its shot.

You should hardly be able to compress a good shock(with your arms)

For anyone who's gone with the Deaver setup on their SMB, did they install their springs on the factory Ford lift blocks, or are the springs arched enough to not need the blocks, and mounted against the axle tube? Got pics?

I was wondering if there was some other way besides removing the shock. My van neither bottoms out on the frame or seems to bounce like a car with bad shocks, but I can definitely hear the hydrolics something I don't recall when it was newer.
