It looks like a 305 is the max size for Quigley and it takes an 8 inch rim width. The stock Ford size wheel, 17x7.5, will take the 285/70 17, but not the 305.

Ditto on the 8". Be sure and check the offset for clearance, especially in tight turns. Rubbing on the swar bar at full turn is OK (IMHO) but you don't want to limit your turning radius.

My 17" Ultra Goliath wheels were about $125 a piece. My fronts are 8" wide. Van is a dually, but I converted the front end back to the SRW hubs so I can run a wider front wheel and tire. (duallie rims only come up to 6.5"). I'm also running matching Goliath dually rims in the rear.

If you ever want to upgrade to bigger brakes, you might consider a 17" rim. It leaves room for bigger rotors/calipers.

Is 6" stock? I thought 7" was stock and BFG recommended against 7" being too narrow.
