Penthouse Roof Alignment

After having a solar panel installed on my penthouse roof, I've been having trouble lowering the roof without it shifting to one side, making it impossible close the roof correctly. The roof shifts laterally on the black tubular supports.

I saw a thread that discussed alignment problems, and the offered solution was to lower the roof with the vehicle as level as possible. This hasn't worked much for me, and I have to wrestle the roof into position on the supports and re-try lowering the roof several times to get it right.

Anybody have any ideas as to how to fix?

Re: Penthouse Roof Alignment

How off is it? Mine doesn't always sit perfect but I can grab it from the inside and pull it one way or the other to make it land in the correct spot just before it touches down. But I have an electric lift and I guessing you don't?.

Re: Penthouse Roof Alignment

Is it coming down too fast? Maybe from the added weight? Or, did you adjust the top to compensate for the added weight?

Try closing all the windows except leave one window open a little. This will slow the top down and allow you to guide it as it slowly comes down. It may be harder to get the top to start down, but easier to control.
