Hello, Quick question. wouldn't mounting on the side cause more stress on the fiberglass pushing down on the bolts vs spreading weight over mounting on the top of the roof? I have an older top too and thought the roof would be a better place?

The only thing I found is if the rack tabs push or pull against the fiberglass when installed, it can effect the sides (gunnels) position of the top and in turn how it sits on the roof. Mine flexed out a bit. As far as weight pushing down, it seems fine.
