PTO Generator

Hi Guys (and Gals)! I mostly follow rather than post, but I would like to pick some brains here if possible.

I have a 2003 E-350 7.3L PSD Quigley Sportsmobile. As part of the OEM I ordered the 4R100 Transmission with the Borg Warner transfer case and the PTO option.

I have been lugging around a propane generator under the back of my van since 2003 with very little use, but I don't want to be without a generator. I have used it on occasion and found it invaluable. I am investigating hydraulic generators and using my PTO for power.

Has anyone else done this?? Do any of you have any suggestions/recommendations/criticisms for doing such a conversion?? I would appreciate any insights you may have.
