Good to hear it works well! I am thinking of doing the same but I don't think they make it in white.

Yes, that's what SMB is using. Mine was tinted to green... do they tint to white? Hard to imagine they don't given the quantity of white vans that go through there- maybe white just isn't over the counter in a kit.
They may be able to do white at SMB but it doesn't come over the counter in a kit. Looks like it has to be mixed and I have no idea how they turn a black base into white.
Thanks for the great post saline. The cracks in my top are slowly getting worse so I know that this is one project that I will have to tackle in the future.

Do you need to tape off the bolts or can you just spray over them? Also I have a crack where it is leaking, do I need to patch that area with fiberglass first? Thanks.
I did not patch the cracks. As seen in the photos the blue tape is covering the bolt threads. The old butyl sealant, washer, and nut were removed for painting.
I have been very pleased so far! No leaks, and no signs of degradation at all. I also sprayed my front bumper as well. I think I might get another kit and do the rocker panels as well.
Canyonrover on this forum also ended up with DIY Raptor Liner on his SMB as well. Perhaps he will chime in too.
I followed Saline's photos and description as he posted on this forum and it really was easy. The hardest part was realizing that once you start sanding the top you are past the point of no return.
I had just developed a small leak in heavy rains with a small amount of water dripping from the front flourescent (now LED) light that is attached to the penthouse top. When looking at the top I noticed quite a few spider cracks in the clearcoat and thought that was my problem. Once I started sanding the top the spider cracks were only in the clear coat and not the cause of the leak. I found that one of the wood screws used to attach the wood to the top of the penthouse had actually worked its way through the top creating a pin hole that wasn't visible until I started sanding. I cleaned this area and filled the hole and surrounding area with butyl. Then I sprayed the liner. I have not had any leaks since then. Easy and I have plans to purchase more this spring and spray the front and rear bumper and the rock sliders on our D90. The outcome is really nice.
As far as colors, I have a silver SMB and really considered having the raptor liner tinted at a local automotive shop. I finally decided to go with black and I am glad I went that route. The black top really helps bring the other black items to view and compliments the rest of the silver on the van.
This is a highly recommended upgrade and one of the best things I have done to the SMB. I will try and get some pics up if I have them.
