Hmm must be a gasser! I get 4 or 5 hours from my 7.3 PSD. About 38 gallons but the last 5 take 15 mins. Longest was 6 hours.

Very very late to this thread, hope my input helps...........

The Club Wagon's with rear heat & A/C do indeed use the same compressor and condenser as the cargo version vans use What's different is the receiver/dryer and high pressure line from the condenser to the front evaporator have tee's built in that feed the rear evaporator.

Rear evaporator uses a thermostatic expansion valve, front uses the typical orifice tube. Refrigerant gas charge increases from about 44 oz of R134a to 64 oz.

Both heat and A/C systems as installed from the factory are pretty awesome IMHO. A few high-quality aftermarket systems exist but as has already been said adding A/C after a build-out is a deep deep rabbit hole.

Not good news I know but rear A/C can be a very big improvement for living creatures who ride in the back while traveling.

2-3 hours? That's weird. My Honda runs almost 8 hours under load but load is a relative term. Just what are you running with it to only get 2-3 hours?
