Remount penthouse! Help!

Ok tomorrow is the day we put the fiberglass back on the penthouse that we mounted in the van. The problem is that the mechanism is up, and I can't seem to pull it down I assume it needs the weight of the roof. I don't wanna unload the springs can't seem to find a safe way to do that! Someone please help how do I get this thing back on my van? It's gotta be what elevwn feet in the air the way it sits. Any way to get the mechanism down with out damaging it?

You are going to have to release spring tension.
Use a come a long hooked to the holes in the rear end of the frame to the hook on the end of the spring. Pull, release chain, release tension on come a long.
There is a video posted by member "Larrie" also a couple pics in my thread.
