Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps
The project is a go. Steve said they'll be $2299.99 per set w/$1000 down. Deposits have been made and we're still going to try and have a set on my rig for the Valley of Fire meet, so SMB'ers will get a chance to check them out. If anyone else is interested PM me.

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps
The pics look like a propane door may not open, or at least not open fully.

Who's getting one shipped to them when ready for a DIY install versus having them install it at their shop?

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps
I was thinking about it but would rather let them do it because of adjustments like Mike mentioned. I've discussed the propane door and the espar equipment that's bolted to the sides. They plan on not painting the steps until after they're fitted. I might swing by on a short trip, have them make sure all is good, then pick em up and have my guys in Stockton finish the job. I'm going to send pictures of my van and hopefully they will be able to make the steps fit without having to go there but I'm thinking I'm in for a drive.

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps
I've sent my deposit. For the install, I think that I will be making the 11.5 hr drive from SoCal to Logan, UT to have them installed. I'm pretty handy, but it looks like a pretty big job for someone to install alone and I don't really know where I would take them for install in SoCal. I don't have the problem with propane doors, etc as my rig is not an SMB.

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps
Hey Guys,
Steve from Rock Slide Engineering has gone ahead and ordered the parts for fabrication of ten sets of slider/steps based on the number of members here who have committed to purchase a set. He has asked that all those who do really want a set please send him a $1000.00 deposit. Apparently only 2 or 3 of us have done so thus far and he's really gone out on a limb financially ordering all of the parts so that he can provide this product to us. Come on guys, lets break out those check books!!

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps
Thanks Skywagon!
That makes 3 of us that I know of, you(Skywagon), Zeta, and myself(bighodad808). I've p.m.ed the others who have expressed interest, hopefully at least 4 or 5 of us have done so.

Rock Slide Retractable Steps
Yep I'm still in also - just picking up the van in 2 days from SMB west in Vegas!
Sorry about not calling steve, I'm really distracted with all the final $ and bits of the van.

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps
Great!!
So that makes three of us that have mailed our deposits, one(Familywagon), who is about to do so, and I think that Tom is working with one more. That makes 4 of us for sure plus maybe one more. I'll let Steve know.
