I use a little magnet to hold it open.

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps

Anyone have an update on how they like these step sliders after a few months? Any complaints about the sound of the actuator?

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps

They are kinda noisy. The nice thing is you can lock them out and leave them in the down position.

They only run for three seconds at a time. My diesel easily drowns them out.

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps

I should add the steps are sure nice compared to the standard rails and I also like that they are lighted. My knees thank me everyday.

But can you stand on one of them and then turn on the actuator to get a free ride?

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps

Last week I had one of the sensors go bad (driver's door), but Rockslide sent me a replacement (plus two spares) and I'm back in business.
I don't mind the sound they make, but they DO clank pretty good when they close.

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Good inputs! These are still my favorite option on the market.
