Roof Coating Options

I'd appreciate advice and opinions on roof coatings.
We're building a white Ford EB Cruiser top van with an Aluminess roof rack. The rack will be covered with 4 permanently mounted solar panels, so cleaning the roof would be tough.
So, the thread on roof cleaning has us thinking....
I understand that some folks are coating the top side of their PHs with Line-X, Rhino, or Raptor.
Has anyone tried this on a fixed top?
Any opinions on the various brands in terms of weight, color match to white, durability, preferred installer, etc?

Thanks!

Re: Roof Coating Options

Here's a thread to read regarding an RV roof paint.

As for white, that's probably the most challenging spray-on liner color. I talked to a local LineX place, and they swore they could do it, but I also read some anecdotal stories about white LineX yellowing. Didn't research it enough to decide for myself if it was really an issue or not. Commercially applied non-black coatings will usually cost a bit more, since they have to purge their spray systems of the material that's already in there (almost always black).

I don't know why it would be an issue, the fixed tops flex less than the PH (I think... that's an assumption...)

You have to make the choice to line with the windows in or out, I don't know how they fit so I'm not sure if the resulting non-smooth surface will be an issue.

Re: Roof Coating Options

Maybe just coat the top and a couple inches down the side, and make it grey or black? Another option would be a top-quality polyurethane paint job on the fiberglass.

That is going to be a t-a-l-l vehicle!
