Really a simple add to the latches is to dip the ends in Plastic Dip to protect the canvas. I just unscrewed the latches, did 2 coats in the Plastic Dip, and reinstalled. Even though the hooks are not sharp without the coating, I felt better about them being rubberized to help prevent any possible rubbing on the canvas.
Re: Roof latches preventative Plastic Dip on hooks
I'm looking at the inside of the PH, outside the canvas. I'm seeing some rubbing on the canvas and the inside of the PH kinda has a rough texture. I just don't want the Plastic dip to rub off on the brown canvas.

Re: Roof latches preventative Plastic Dip on hooks
I'm not seeing any areas where the hooks would endanger the canvas in any way. The front ones don't get near any canvas and the rear one barely contacts any canvas depending on how the sides fold in when top down.
