ScanGauge mounting point

I know a lot of people use a ScanGauge but i haven't seen much about where they mounted it. I love that little gauge and this is where i mounted mine.

It was very easy. It helps that my seats flip up and slide way back! First you'll need to remove your doghouse.

Then remove this bracket to give easy access to the back of your dash. Only one screw

And this is the view you get without the bracket (looking straight up behind the lighter plugs).

One little hole here, route your wire through...

Some electric tape to cover the side plug-in.

Double-sided tape and that's it, easy pie!

Cheers
David

Nice work, I placed mine in the exact same spot a couple years ago. For some reason I do not remember even having to remove anything, just drilling the hole and reaching up behind the dash.

I did the same. Just fished the wire up from under the dash. I think I remember using an old wire hanger to grab it from the top side as well.

I just found it way easier to remove the one screw and move that bracket out of the way but good to know it can be done without. It was just easier for me to make sure there was nothing else in the back that I could have risked drilling through!

To be honest I can't figure a better place for it!

Cheers
David

Great spot. I have mine temporarily velcroed on the dog house. Before that it was just all over the place. Im waiting to incorporate it to my overhead console when i build it.

Nice install. I used a Blend Mount to put mine above the rear view mirror. The kit comes with and extension cable.

You guys with different mounting options should post a picture here so people looking to mount theirs could get a better idea

Looks like it's the logical position for it if so many of us end up with the same idea
I will look into the 12v passenger outlet though, thanks for sharing!
