New Door Talon

Thank you for your work, Ray!
I’m looking forward to ditching my bungee cord soon.

Thxs Brian! yes, jwinterstellar did a great job designing the Talon especially the double hook feature to accommodate the "never can be sure" difference in hinge swing! That feature remains the same.

The material has changed to aluminum and it is black anodized. The large beveled washer and the small bushing/spacer are now one piece which simplifies the installation. Looking forward to the first batch!

Can you explain how that one piece washer and bushing are supposed to work??? To me it just like you deleted the bushing and left room for slop?

The bushing and the washer are machined together rather than individual pieces. John would spend time sizing the bushings which was very time consuming. When I took over we had the bushings cut from tube but then had to deburr the cuts. This way the pieces are machined with tighter tolerance and are ready for anodizing. It also helps with assembly as one of the nylon washers would tend to get trapped between the beveled washer and the bushing.

Little birdie says I will have the new batch on Monday
I will post pics after I get them!

Ah, so the new ones are not out yet? Do you supply the SMB store? Thought I may have received a new version because I didn't receive a bushing but it seems it was just left out.

Haha, I did! Bought one soon after. Got it on last night for wife's craft show today. Just tightened it really tight to make up for the lack of bushing. Works great other than that. Love that it doesn't have the rubber band effect that the bungee had.
