Re: The simple project of replacing your shore power receptacle

In theory, the extension cord could pull out of the plug at the end of it, instead of pulling the socket out of the van. It could be an easy fix to just cut the wire back to a clean end and reinstall the plug. Not that I'll admit it could happen to me...

Re: The simple project of replacing your shore power receptacle

Now you mention this bitburger! Where were you two years ago when I pulled the whole shebang out of the socket while trying to unplug the SMB in the pouring rain at Deception Pass State Park in the San Juan Islands?

Three trips to the hardware store and one trip to the RV repair shop and I finally got the socket back together.

Ed,

Just give me time. I'll make all of the stupid mistakes on your behalf and work through a suitable remedy.

As we all know, it's not usually too bad to fix a problem in your dry garage, but it is a different situation altogether when the kids are hot, unhappy and you're sitting in a Home Depot parking lot

PS. On the last trip, I broke an internal light fixture with a sleeping bag being tossed from the back to the front. I'm searching for a lower profile LED fixture now....
