Yvrr, do you mind me asking, does your door post sticker from transferflow have the number (D-288-14) and the one on the rear tank (D-288-18)?
Yes, we have a V10 and the TransferFlow sticker on the door jam lists the California ARB Accredidation number D288-14 (not sure about the tank). The sticker under the hood was put on by Quigley and covers most of a Ford sticker (the only portion still visible is the vacuum routing like carrignb mentions). The Quigley sticker talks about an Evaporative Emission System for 27 gallons and some numbers (accrediation numbers?). I still don't know how the shop owner where I go to get it smog tested knew that the Quigley numbers were incorrect and thought to look on the door jam but I'm glad that he did...

Re: transfer flow CARB illegal?

We have a 2003 E350 V10 converted by QuadVan in late 2003/early 2004. Thyey installed the TF 46 Gal tank to replace the 35 gal stock tank.

Door sticker for TF is EO D288-35 which does list my vehicle as compliant.

Link to check the Executive Orders is :
http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/d ... mquery.php

Read carefully to make sure your year and model is covered.

I also looked at EO D288-41 and it looked like it covered my vehicle as well. Hope I do not have issues when I go to get smog checked. As it is, I have to go to the referee every two years due to a code looking for two more O2 sensors that never existed on my van. Last year the referee did not say anything about the gas tank. I am good through March 2015, so it will be next year before I find out if any issue.

Re: transfer flow CARB illegal?

Update:

I talked to Peter at SMB W and he said they definitely did the original install using the stickers TF provided with the kit. I also talked to TF and they are working on a resolution for me. In the mean time I looked through all the TF executive orders and the one that seems applicable is 288-28. Not sure how the other stickers wound up on there, but I find it curious that the first time the 6.8L shows up in the executive orders is in 2002.... And it covers them retroactively 97-2002. I guess no one really gave a sh!t back then.

Re: transfer flow CARB illegal?

You're assuming that CARB didn't retroactively change the rules.

Good to hear Transfer Flow and SMB are helping sort this out.

Re: transfer flow CARB illegal?

Ok, so here is the deal.

Those of you with E350, V10s and the TF 27 gal aft axle auxiliary tank will likely have a 288-14 sticker on the doorpost and a 288-18 on the tank itself.

The correct executive order for your vans:

Year 97-2002 - D288-28
Year 97-2003 - D288-34

Any van after 2003 is only CARB approved for the 30 gallon aft axle.

The appropriate executive orders are:

Year 2004 - D288-40
Year 04-05 - D288-44
Year 04-06 - D288-52
Year 04-07 - D288-60
Year 04-08 - D288-68
Year 04-09 - D288-76
Year 04-10 - D288-92
Year 11-12 - D288-110

For those of you who may run into problems passing the visual in the coming year, the game here is to call Transfer Flow and request a new carb sticker for the door post and the tank that list your appropriate executive order.

Hope this helps.
