Agree, but do it directly, not via this forum. There's no official SMB representation or participation here. I recommend you try to manage the issue off-forum first, and if and only if you don't feel a positive resolution can be found, then vent publicly with the facts as you see them. While I understand your frustration, possibly backing a company into a corner is likely not going to get you anywhere.
Honey first, then vinegar.

Jeff, that's awesome for you, but, this post was meant to be an informational safety bulletin for safety conscious sportsmobile owners. I seek no resolution, since I'm not driving down to Fresno and letting them touch my van again (unless the top fails in some way).

I applaud you for that, and I really appreciate you making me aware of potential issues in my van. One good thing about CA is you don't need honey in instances like this, nor should you.

Trust me building your own is very time consuming ,
However I do know whats behind my walls.
Not to fuel any fires but...
I must say It would be harder to cut that roof that bad than it would be to do it stright. I've cut two roofs myself and its not that hard.

Seriously, I think this is typical of the RV industry in general.

Sorry to say, Silver350, you mistakenly attributed this problem to me. It was another forum user who reported this and I don't know that they can be sure their tank was installed by SMB since they bought used.

Yikes... is that bolt the only thing holding the metal tracks for the roof supports?
