Water tank for solar shower

I started putting together a 5G tank on the sway arm over the rear bumper from Aluminess.
The idea is that the water can heat up in the sun while we travel.
Warm water will be available in camp for a shower.
Later I will build a shower curtain, also attached to sway arm... the goal is a fast and easy shower, warmed up by the sun.
The water will flow based on gravity. Tank stays in position while taking a shower.

I like the concept Marcel, also think you did a nice job on the mounting bracket. Interested to see what you come up with for the shower curtain. Fun project!
I would inly question the pressure you're likely to get - Don't believe you'll get much through gravity at that height - may consider a simple battery powered spray head - very Portable, Affordable, & Functional for your application (especially with the wide mouth access on the top of your container).

Good point about water flow based on gravity.
Our solar shower bags were fine though.. low flow helps conserve water.
If it doesn't work well enough getting a pump may be in order... with water saving shower head.

The issues we were running into that made me put together the tank were:
1. I can't transport water in solar bags... the bags would rip on the rough roads.
2. When I get to camp there is often no water, and if there is water, there is not enough solar time to heat it up before the sun sets.

So, I figured the tank would solve this:
1. I fill the tank when we encounter water. Typically creek water (drinking water is usually a premium and I like to keep it just for drinking, rather than also use it for a shower)
2. The water can just warm up during the day when we travel, including on rough roads.
3. This way we have water when we get to camp, and it is warm. This should solve my shower water problems.

shower cubicle

It was time to build a shower cubicle.
Modeled after ones you can buy, I used parts you can buy and put together.

Really like your concept of having it mounted to the back of the swing arm...out of the way, and easily deployed = well done!

Backing is aluminum doorstep
Shelving brackets mounted to that
1x1 wood extensions
0.5 Inch buckles and webbing connect curtain
Curtain is ripstop nylon picknick blanket... Cut to size with soldering iron
Fiberglass rods at bottom curtain keep curtain straight and keep it from blowing around in the wind

I like it.

When I had a Big Kahuna shower cube, it had a small 12V, marine bilge pump installed which worked really well.

The tank is: 5 Gallon Black Molded Polyethylene Tank with Lid & 1/2" FNPT Fitting - 18" L x 9" W x 10" H

Bought at: https://www.usplastic.com

I also had to buy some adapters and fittings to connect it to the hose that I use
