Re: What work did you do on your SMB today?
1. moved solar panels 9 inches forward (required new forward mounting holes on panel)
2. moved satellite receiver 9 inches forward
3. added 2 additional support brackets to custom fairing
4. added external waterproof 110v outlet (internal switch)
5. added 12v outlet under front passenger seat
6. replaced rear PHT J-bolt with longer length to create better latching pressure

Re: What work did you do on your SMB today?
Greg,
Where did you get #6 the longer J hook for the penthouse. I looked at several local hardware stores and couldn't find one the correct length and size. Mine is currently on the last thread and difficult to latch.
Thanks
Chris

Wow you guys should have come to me, I've cut my rear J off twice now to make it tight.

Re: What work did you do on your SMB today?
The weather man claims it will be in the low 50s and partially sunny on Saturday!! That means, I can finally attempt to tackle this damn diesel fuel problem issue, whatever it may be. I've got the parts in hand, the factory shop manuals and I'm ready to turn Saturday into a long, miserable day of knuckle banging and swearing.

Swapped oil lines for Amsoil system; removed restrictor to full flow filter; full oil & filter change, lube.

I did the same thing yesterday. What a pain it was to crack loose the fittings on the hoses!

Same for me. Since there was so little space to work in, I had two major fears. The first was that I was going to break it loose and slam my hand into one of the many metal objects. The other was that oil was going to start pouring all over me. Luckily, and surprisingly, neither one happened. I'm not sure if it is my imagination or wishful thinking, but the van does seem to be running quieter/smoother now.

Me too. I had to use a section of pipe for leverage on the wrench. When they let loose, it is sudden!
Which end did you end up changing. I couldn't get the fittings at the adapter to break loose, so I ended up swapping them at the filters. I'm fearful that I didn't get them tight enough and they will leak. I'll have to keep my eye on it for a while.

Re: What work did you do on your SMB today?
Phil, I swapped them at the adapter. It was a pain in the butt to remove them, especially the one closer to the passenger side. I will also be checking for leaks over the next couple of weeks, although everything is good so far. I did use a teflon wrap as Jim suggested. Did you also remove the restrictor?
