Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Replaced 6 front sets of hardware to fix the other half of the leak. Will post full writeup after I install my new harddrive.

Jeremiah, that picture of your top looks like the latches are way too tight. My top stays flat when I pull it down.

Jage I got to agree with mike there, looks like your top is being warped by the down pressure? Or is it the picture that gives that impression?

My roof lines look the same as Jage's roof.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

All the hardware has it's own topography... the one on the lower right is probably the worst. You can see from the reflection how bad (and how localized) the dip is.

The J hooks are never tight, just snug- and they are not even connected in these photos. Whatever you see is permanent, and in fact if you look close you can see that the washers conformed in some places to the bends- meaning, the bends are not going anywhere even with a giant piece of metal clamped down on top of them.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

I have found that my electric penthouse will pull the top down almost a inch after making conact with the roof. My procedure is to now bring the top down, latch and then put it back up a little bit and snug up the J-hooks.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Interesting, I snug the top down visually not to the bottom of the e-lift, and have the hooks adjusted accordingly.

When I bought it, the rear hook was 1/4" too long (bottomed out in the threads) and would flop off the eye. Also, Lord knows what abuses the PO put it through.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

I polished my headlamp housing with a 3M kit and, while I was in there, painted my plastic grill black with a can of high-temp BBQ grill spraypaint I had sitting around. Next up is to take it into the shop to try to figure out the weird driver's side thump in the suspension before I put on new bumpers.

She's not a 4x4 but she's starting to look the part! I need to make stickers for the side that say "Sportsmobilish".
