Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
I completely removed the back closet looking for that dead chipmunk. Found him.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Pulled apart the rear upper trim and pulled out the connection for the power top in order to split one wire and re-level the top- a low voltage (< 10v) raise about a year ago got them out of sync.
The upper right? Don't want to talk about it.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
I finally spliced the troublesome too short passenger seat belt/airbag warning wire. whenever the seat was rotated to face the rear it pulled loose from the connection.

Holy Brightlights Batman!!!! Installed the longstem 18 LED bulb in each reading light. What a nice improvement! I like them. Can't wait until I see them in complete darkness.

If you turn them on you won't have complete darkness!

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Installed the full floating rear axle. The semi-floater was rated at 6340#, the full floater is rated at 7800#. The axle came from an E350 cutaway (more of them out there than you might think) and was single rear wheel and had the correct ABS sensor installed. More or less a drop-in, unless you count the two days I needed to modify parts to fit.
I run F350 Wheels, so I have adaptors to change the bolt pattern. But, the full floating axle that sticks out is much bigger than the hole through the adaptor. The hole was 4.1" and I had to open them up to 4.732" to get them on. Then the studs on the bigger axle are longer. I really didn't want to cut the threads on the studs, so I cut the pilot (smaller, unthreaded portion) off and still had to bore 5/8" holes .500" deep in the backside of my wheels to clear the rest of the stud. Lifting those heavy wheels up onto the milling machine is not fun. But, the holes are accurately placed.
Bolt it all up, and discover the F350 hubcaps won't seat completely because it bottoms on the bolts that hold the axle cap on. I managed to machine an 1/8" off the back of the cap to make it fit.
Well, the LSD works and the axle is quiet and it looks like we are ready to go to Toroweap.
I still have a minor issue, the ABS light won't turn off. I'll pull the good sensor from my old axle and see if that does the trick. If not, I just have conventional, not ABS, brakes.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Oh wow, I love Toroweap! I am jealous. I haven't been there in a few years. Hoping I can make it in October possibly.
I have a full floater, too, that Quadvan put in when they built it. They pulled it, apparently, from a Harley Davidson F-350 with about 12,000 miles from the wrecking yard.
What have I done lately?
1. Came up with a better way to prevent my drawer system from opening while driving and braking.
2. Put down a new floor over the plywood. Used the skating rink material that I love. Indestructible and looks good, too.
3. Moved the position of my Engel 45.
4. Put a couple of spacer plates on the Aluminess tire carrier to bring the tire another 3/4's of an inch out.
5. Replaced the No-Loss valve caps that some cretin stole a few months ago
6. Completed the shelves. At least, version one of the shelves.
7. Decided to let the windshield chip be, for the moment.
8. Installed the Expedition Exchange gerry can holders on top of the Aluminess generator box and drilled some holes in them for drainage. They still shake too much for my taste and I'd like to come up with another solution.
9. Got an extra spark plug for the Yamaha generator.
10. Got a Formotion compass and thermometer, but have not installed them yet.
11. Am going to make another attempt to do plywood on the walls, instead of the masonite, because I love looking at my wood ceiling. Found some bending plywood, 1/8" poplar, at some plywood place in the Bronx and am going up tomorrow to get a sheet.
12. Made initial plans for the in-door shelving.
13. Move the aluminess ladder two inches to the rear. Mainly cause it was not quite high enough and one of the top clips had bent. I also reinforced it with three extra heavy duty bolts in the bottom, instead of just the two (I know, I overdo everything) but when the really helpful guy from Aluminess told me that most of the weight was supported from the bottom, I could not help it. Got some Grade 8 stainless bolts from nutsandbolts.com and went to town.
14. Did some touchup in Oxford White, the new black.
15. Moved the dog's built-in bunk five inches lower - he's a little guy and it made it easier for him to jump into it.
16. Some new stickers and emblems.
17. Changed oil and rotated tires.
18. Installed the Quadvan dual dampener system.
19. Trying to figure out why all three of my fairly pricey tire gauges have vastly different readings.
20. Thought about how I really need to wash the thing down.

That one concerns me somewhat. You don know that the tire must be hard against the Aluminess support tubes? If not, the tire weight will cause it to move and break the mount. When my tire contacts the tubes on the Aluminess mount I have about 3/8" to go before the wheel bottoms on the mount. That keeps the tire/wheel solid and doesn't allow any movement over rough roads, etc.
