OK, cool. I had a feeling that's what they were for, but wasn't sure. I figured I had drilled enough holes in my van for a weekend.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Oil/filter change (7800 miles since last change).

Drain trans pan and replace oil/filter.

Change transfercase oil.

Grease 3 zerks.

The transmission and transfercase were easier than the engine oil change.

Oil - $115
Filter - $15
Trans fluid - $60
Trans filter - $22
Transfercase oil - $15

$227

Now, I need to do the 100K maintenance: Serpentine belt, rad and heater hoses, coolant.

Let us know how you plan to change the serpentine belt.

I wonder if the tool in this video would make it easier? Don't know if there's enough clearance on our vans.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Actually, since I'm changing coolant and radiator hoses, I thought I'd remove the radiator to do the belt. More access is more better!

Adjusted the Penthouse Lift link/springs, much easier to lift with the solar panels on top:

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Changed my rock-punctured BFG left rear tire and moved on to wait for Monday to get a new tire in Durango. Not as glamorous as some of the other mods here but we were a couple of hundred yards above a narrow 15% +/- grade where changing tire would have been less than pleasant. Also, it proves once again that all good things happen on Friday afternoon.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Ordered a Truckfridge TF65 12V unit today.
Attached a travel bug in the rear window.
Put the "gift" under the travel bug above the spare tire on the door.

Disconnected the hard wired 30 amp shore power cable and removed the old electrical grommet through the body. In place of the grommet installed a Marinco 150BBI.RV and wired that into the van electrical system. Then installed a matching electrical receptacle on the old shore power cord. This allows me to store the cable in the door rather than under the seat.

Removed the dryer vent that the PO installed in the side of the van. Built a patch our of sheet metal to cover the hole and sealed it with butyl rubber and screws.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

This holiday week since we are not camping I:

Cut off part of my spare tire carrier.
Cleaned and painted the back third of the frame and under body.
Modified and installed a U Joint Off Road skid system.
Installed a 25 gallon fresh water tank and Shurflo pump on the skid plate.
And one of the best things I have ever done to the van, installed the amazing "Door Talon"

How much work was that in the end?
