[QUOTE=Dogger; Ray, how much is the Fiamma 45 from you? I'm in SLC, Utah[/QUOTE]

The awning is $875. The shipping is $180 to a commercial address, $230 to a residential address. We recently did a group buy where five units were sent to Sandy, UT and the shipping cost per unit was $75.

If we can find another one or even two people in SLC area who want awnings, then the shipping costs drop to $110 per unit for two or $85 per unit three shipped to the same commercial location.

Hope that helps.

I have the Rhino Rack version of the ARB/CVT awning mounted w two of the 'z' style brackets. Installation was easy (if I remember correctly . . . ).

Not sure if it is the awning itself or just my circumstance but I don't actually use it as often as I thought I would. I am tall and can set it up by myself although I am sure it is not the prettiest thing to witness.

There was another thread around here recently about the pros/cons of the awning. . . . .

FYI I've got a 13' awning on my van (more weight) holding up just fine for 2 years on modified Z brackets. I was having trouble with getting enough clamping force on the gutters, so I added one nutcert per bracket.

With that set up it holds up to 71 lbs of awning exposed to a variety of driving, and can support nearly 350lbs dead weight drooping off them. (Me plus awning)

Results may vary. Test and own your own results. (like drilling three holes in your van.)

Do you have one more set of brackets Ray? As I am prepping my high top to mount on the my van I considered bolting my FauxFiamma directly to the fiberglass, but, on second and third consideration, I should just buy the Z Brackets and be done with it.

Thanks,

Thanks odinson; good info. By coincidence I came across an awning thread where nutcerts are used; I’ve never seen them before. Seems like the right approach.
