Re: Z's Fiamma Awning Brackets
**Update**
We reversed the awning bracket mounting bolts and used acorn nuts on the camp side since we're not fans of bolt caps. We switched to stainless too. We also found that the M6X12MM fit perfectly with the ARB awning if you use a small flat head screwdriver (or similar) to shim it forward to get the nuts started. The penthouse gasket still hits the bolts but it is no longer snagging, not yet at least.

Re: Z's Fiamma Awning Brackets
Holy !
VS just quoted me $225 for a set of these brackets! They must be sending the gold plated ones.
Unfortunately, I need these yesterday so . . . . .
Sounds like some reverse engineering is in order.
Edit: I am not buying these. Considering the hassles people have had installing them and considering they were $170 a few months ago, I will figure something else out.

Re: Z's Fiamma Awning Brackets
If someone has a set of drawings or a set of these that have not been mounted and can spare them for a bit to get the engineering done, I would be interested in looking into this as the VS pricing has become ridiculous enough.
How many out there are interested in a set, if we can get them done in the $150 to $170 range (hopefully including powder coated finish) ?
Please let me know, I am motivated as I will need a set as well.

Re: Z's Fiamma Awning Brackets
Sad to hear Van Specialties is going up on these. Ray, good luck and hopefully you can get it done. I'm sure they will sell. Talk to Zeta yet?

I need a set and have yet to pull the trigger because of the cost. I would be interested.

Re: Z's Fiamma Awning Brackets
I may be interested. I'm still looking into the mounts that can attach to the thule/yakima crossbars as I don't have a poptop (yet).

Re: Z's Fiamma Awning Brackets
If you do make them, add one little change. The flat length from the bend that captures the drip rail to the bend at the top that captures the slot in the Fiamma awning needs to be about 3/8"-1/2" longer. With the stock brackets mounted where they should be front and rear, there is not enough height to clear the bend in the middle bracket. Because the drip rail slopes down at the fore and aft of the van, the center is too high, and the awning hits the bend. The front bracket can only be mounted in one location and the middle bracket has very little room for adjustment along the body of the van. I had to move the rear bracket forward about 10 inches to get the awning high enough to clear the bend in the middle bracket. That leaves a bit too much of the longer awning hanging off the back of the rear bracket. Making the front and rear brackets a bit taller would solve that issue and allow the last two brackets to be spaced properly. Check it out...
And then... I too would be interested!
Thanks!
