Re: Z's Fiamma Awning Brackets

I got a set from Van Specialties but I think they are a copy of Z's. The only thing I changed was the bolts that came with them. They were way to long. I had some 1 1/4" stainless steel bolts that worked much better. I may have even got 1" to work. That way they did not interfere with the pop top very much at all. The front and rear brackets on mine are identical. The middle bracket does not have a lip at the top. I mounted my brackets, then drilled the mounting holes, then touched up with black rustoleum paint.

Re: Z's Fiamma Awning Brackets

Just realized after posting this that I should have flipped the mounting bolts around. That would probably eliminate any interference with the pop top. I still have some sunlight left for today

Re: Z's Fiamma Awning Brackets

Is that rear-most bracket free from touching the glass? Looks pretty close form the one pic.

Yeah it is free from touching the glass. The window is set back from the van body so there is some clearance.

Mine from Z are definitely not the same. One is clearly different (without looking too carefully I'm assuming the front - inside the door - one) but the other two are also different. I'm guessing it will be self explanatory once I stick them on the van - the difference probably accounts for the curve in the van - but won't know until I mount it.

Re: Z's Fiamma Awning Brackets

I think I misspoke about the front and rear being identical. I was thinking about the top portion with the lip on it. The front bracket sits behind the passenger door so I believe it is different. I think it will be obvious when you hold the two with the top lips on the van. One should fit easily behind the front door. I can try and take a picture of that one with the front door open later.

Re: Z's Fiamma Awning Brackets

Exactly. Then the other two surface mount, but are slightly different due to curvature of the van body?

Trquinn, what kind of awning is that? I don't recognize it.

Thanks

Never mind. I see that it is Cascadia Vehicle Tents. Lots of cool stuff on their site. Thanks Google.
