I am looking at upgrading the headlights on my E450 Ambulance rig and had a few questions myself; One potential downside I'm wondering about to the LED's is that because they are so efficient and consume few Watts they don't get warm enough to keep snow and ice from accumulating in cold areas of the country. Am I completely off-base here?
As far as the HID's that Rendoval sells; Does the $250-- include everything needed or do I need to purchase something additional?
Thanks

I guess I never posted much about my headlights. Sorry.
I did the truck-lites install and converted from the smooth style headlights at the same time.
As RallyPanAM suggested, you can grab the buckets, springs and adjusters from a local junkyard for ~$10-$15. A quick coat of paint and you're good to go. Swapping everything over takes about 20 minutes.

The trucklites LEDs are worth every penny. Super clean, bright light with sharp cutoffs. I am very happy with the results. FYI, they are far superior to the factory HIDs in my 2015 Volkswagen.

I've seen nothing but good reviews for the Vantage optics HID setup too. I very nearly went that route myself. It's pretty cool that we have two really good choices for our vans!

One final note, do NOT waste your money on the HID conversion headlights available on ebay and elsewhere. That's what my van came with and they are junk.

Hey guys thanks for all the great info. I think I will go with the Truck-lite, after dealing with HID's on my wife's Grand Cherokee. I dont think it's worth the trouble. Ended up pulling them out and going back to stock.

Thanks again

All-

Easiest way to work out the pricing of my lights is to go to the site. You can play around with different options and see what they do to the pricing. Currently, all my kits are complete and come with everything you need, even screws and zip ties. I started selling the lights on the component level, but the lack of interest in piecing them together was a turn-off for most.

Check out the options here

That could potentially be an issue... I've yet to drive in enough snow to worry about it though.

I haven't heard from customers about my HID projector lights being a problem with snow or ice accumulation. We don't have those issues in Southern California so I have no personal experience. Some of the led units do get pretty hot despite their efficient operating characteristics.

I do anticipate an LED projector to be available early in 2017 that will work in my retrofits, though I am not holding my breath for their durability or output distance. Time will tell, hopefully I am wrong and we can all run led lighting no matter what the housing looks like!
