2001 E250 pulling "K" fuel pump relay for secure storage

I am considering pulling the fuel pump relay, which is "K" in my fuse box during storage of my van. I recall reading the discussions on the Cyclops security system which replaced this or another relay with one that utilizes a remote to allow start, but this is more of an attempt to do something to just disable starting (and bump starting) during storage.

My questions are whether this would be the best one to pull. Vs PCM say. Would cranking the engine with the relay out have any downsides? I can't recall if with it removed the engine will catch at all (like whether it's sensed and starting is interrupted entirely, vs just sputtering).

Thanks for any advice (and BTW I don't need help on security, etc aside from this one issue).

This doesn't answer your question directly, but you can also create a disconnect point at the fuel pump relay near the pass-side door, under the airbag area where your feet are. I cut the fuel pump wire there and spliced in a hidden on/off toggle switch that enables me to turn power to the fuel pump on/off from a seated position in the driver seat (makes it a little easier than pulling the fuse box if you want to do it more regularly).

What I really like about it is that if you turn the key on without power to the fuel pump, the van tries to start (but obviously doesn't due to fuel starvation). Aka it gives the sound of a vehicle that has starting issues, so hopefully any enterprising thief would say to hell with it and move on the the next vehicle of interest.
