I always try to purchase my batteries from a source that I can get a warranty replacement from when I'm on the road, if I needed to. That typically points me toward the more common brands, or more common stores.

The Carbon foam AGM is much like lithium, but with out the lithium cost. They do cost more than a traditional AGM. With a lifeline the number of expected cycles is 1000 with a 50%DOD, while the Firefly is 1000 cycles with a 80%DOD. You actually get 3600 cycles if you stayed at the traditional 50%DOD with the firefly. The other great thing it is perfectly OK to give it a partial charge. Standard AGM like to be charged back to full as soon as possible. This is probably the bigger killer than actual cycles in our usage.

That's the way I read it - you can draw that carbon foam battery down to 20%. Incredible isn't it? Down side is the cost but I'll bet they last longer as well. Something to think about...

I still plan to go this route since I'll have more capacity to draw from, but will actually try get 3 to fit.

Out of curiosity, I found the manual to the Oasis Group 31 battery. The manual doesn't provide much insight unfortunately.

The Oasis carbon foam battery looks like an excellent option for our vans. I want to take a little time to look further into it. I don't think I have time to modify or fabricate a frame for these before BCOR so I may get the Apex 4D as a temporary solution. They have a one year warranty with free shipping.
Cyrull - I will PM you when I decide in the next day or so.

Not sure if you all noticed, but the APEX batteries automatically generate a coupon code (ANDYCOST) when you add them to your car, which provides a 50% discount.

If anyone is considering the Li Ion Carbon Foam batteries, they should read the thread titled "Carbon Foam AGM Batteries".

Ok, nix the coupon. I ordered a battery and got an email from them a couple hours later saying it was a mistake and they won't honor it. Boo.
