6.0L Wiring harness needed.

My understanding is you should get the number off the tag on the original harness ( located approx under the coolant bottle ) to verify it is the correct one.

I sourced mine in 2015 from AutoNation Ford for $664 and now $750. 6C2Z-12B637-UA is the part # I have. You can find it cheaper on ebay if you decide to go that route but I doubt any dealer will beat AutoNation's pricing.

I believe it's the same one for a 2007 but for sure as mentioned confirm with the VIN. Also, the glow plug harnesses are cheap and might as well replace those. Removal almost mandates replacement because the clips to the glow plugs are plastic and break.

Around 2 years ago I spent some time thinking about buying a new harness to be ready for the day in the near future I would need to replace my crumbling original. The challenge I ran into was pinning down the exact part number for my 2005 van. Ford parts tech searched by vin and would come up with two options. This wasn't ideal unless I had the old one off and could compare, but I wasn't ready to replace it then. I wanted the correct one on the shelf.

oldbonesclimber is correct there is a tag on the harness around the lead that plugs into the FICM. Located under and center of the degas bottle. However on mine it is an international part number that I haven't been able to get anyone to cross reference.

Through internet searching late at night and a few phone calls to ford parts I was able to come up with the following part numbers based on date of manufacture.

5C2Z-12B637-U = 11/2004 - 10/2005
6C2Z-12B637-UA = 10/2005 - 06/2007
7C2Z-12B637-AA = 03/2007 - AND UP

Therefore my van having a date of manufacture of 03/2005 would be the 5C2Z-12B637-U, maybe.

The reason I didn't just purchase and throw on the shelf is I haven't been able to verify it, and stuff happened in life over the last 18 months. It would be great if someone with access and intimate knowledge could verify these part numbers based on date of manufacture. And even better could lay them out on the floor at Ford and look to see what is different between them.

Ravensix, any help you can provide the 6.0 captains is much appreciated.

Remember service part number is what you order at the Ford parts counter, the engineering part number is what you will find on the actual harness.

Some service part numbers had engineering part number updates during build times, under the HISTORY section you will see the different engineering part numbers by date used during build periods.
