Attempting to install Solar

Any helpful hints would be appreciated. I will be mounting a 135 watt panel on the forward portion of the penthouse using some brackets from Con-Ferr, and Blue Sky digital controller underneath the TrippLite panel. I have done a fair bit of searching but could use some input if anyone has any.
Also, does anyone have their solar charging their starting batteries also?
Thanks,
Josh

Re: Attempting to install Solar

Your separator should handle the solar charging the starter batteries, unlike an isolator it works both directions... I'm pretty sure your van is new enough to have the sure power 1315:

Re: Attempting to install Solar

Bump, sorry..Does anyone else who has solar know if their connection from the controller is directly connected to the battery under the truck or is it an inside connection to the battery suppy cables. Is this confusing?
At any rate I fabbed my panel mounts, made a controller housing, ran the battery wires etc. It's scary when you reach the point of no return when the drill goes through the penthouse!
Tommorow I mount the panel. Too much rain today.

Re: Attempting to install Solar

My solar controller connects to the 12V system at the common tie point before the fuse panel. My battery charger and both batteries are tied in at the same point.
