Auxiliary Audio Input

What year did Ford start putting aux in jacks on the E350?

I want to stay Ford OEM to keep it less of a theft risk.

Re: Auxiliary Audio Input

Backing in to your question, my '07 does not have an aux input.

That's very helpful, I would have thought they would have picked them up in 05 or so.

I will start the search on flea-bay.

Auxiliary Audio Input

I think it arrived with the new dash in '09.

Are the connectors compatible with 2002?

Auxiliary Audio Input

I really wouldn't know. But, I kind of doubt it.

On the other hand, it is separate from the head unit so maybe. But, if your factory head unit doesn't have an AUX button, I go back to my original thought - doubt it.

Re: Auxiliary Audio Input

You can add an AUX input back until '97, as long as it is a 6-CD unit, has the "AUX" or "SAT" button, or has CD-changer controls.

I have the 6-CD unit, and have added 3-aux inputs. To select the aux inputs, I push the CD button twice, and it switches to "DJ". In that mode, I have DJ1, DJ2, and DJ3. One for Sirius, one for my phone (pandora), and one for the DVD player.

To add aux inputs, you need a "PIE" adapter. There are two versions, CAN and non-CAN. All '03+ vans have CAN networks.

Here is a single-input unit:

BTW - the directions on say that on the CAN radios, it won't work with Sirrius unless you disconnect it. Also no-go on factory NAV.

Thanks, I have the 6 CD head unit. I'll look and see what buttons I have.... maybe pressing CD like yours will do the trick.

I couldn't see a non-CAN (2002) version of the "PIE" adatper at the site you linked?
