Backup Camera Wiring Questions

I'm redoing the cameras in the van. First question the new monitor came with the pictured pigtail. There are 4 channel pigtails that are inputs and 4 16 gauge wires each labeled with a channel matching one of the pigtail inputs. It seems obvious that a 12v+ signal on the wire labeled channel 2 will override the system to show channel 2 (e.g. the reverse lights force the reverse cam). I just want to double check since the instructions were not.

Second and more importantly the last system I installed used a proprietary wiring system and non-standard (I think) plugs with 5 pins. All my new hardware has 4 pins or RCA / standard power connection. The legacy wiring has 5 strands and a shield strand as shown in the second picture. The wire colors are: red, black, white, yellow, and green. I no longer have the control box so I cannot test but I'm assuming red and black are camera power and yellow is the main video input. Either white or green should be the second wire in the video and the last is unknown since neither end would be attached to anything external to the camera or the control box. The camera has an infrared mode but I assume it's automatic at the camera. Thoughts as to how I should hook these wires up to test the last remaining camera?

Jage,

I believe your assumptions are correct, trigger wires will generally be +12 volt activated. The wires would be Red - Power. Black - Ground, Yellow - AV(video), White - AV(audio), Green - AV.
