Body Control Module
Hey all, I have a 2015 Chevy Express 2500. We've had Cololorado Camper Van do a poptop and basic interior, and since then we've added a kitchen. Since we bought it in June we've done 30k miles, including one night in Steamboat Springs at the KOA when it got down to 6 degrees! Anyhow, a few weeks ago, we were driving up to Mendocino County to surf and I flipped the heat on and... nothing. Also: My daughter noticed her rear AC/heat controls weren't working as well. I traced the fuse and replaced it and... it blew again. So I took it to my mechanic, having also noticed that the rear taillight was out. Also the horn no longer sounds softly when I hit the lock button on the Chevy key fob thing.
TL;DR: My mechanic thinks the failure of the heater/rear controls/tail light is a failing Body Control Module. He can't do the work and is recommending we go to Martin Chevrolet in Torrance, so they can install a new BMC and program it correctly.
Anyone have any insight? Does this sound right? Anyone have experiences having a BMC fail and correctly replaced. And any LA van owners like a Chevy dealer or private mechanic near Venice Beach who could do BMC work?
THANKS!
