Can someone help me identify what this swtich does?
Hello,
I bought my 2010 Ford E-250 Sporstmobile at an RV dealership and they really didn't know much about my van. My manual doesn't help much either. I have a battery charger/converter and do not have an inverter.
1) Can someone tell me what the switch does directly to the right of the white 120v outlet?
2) Also, what is the difference between the two (white and grey) 120v outlets? I am assuming the only difference between outlets is that the grey one has GFI.
Thank you in advance!
Craig

Can't help with your questions but I'm sure there are several owners that live relatively close by & may be a wealth of info for you - might start another thread soliciting this. If you do, I recommend keeping the title short but have your location identified, something along the lines of: "SMB owner available in Alemada CA area needed".
BUT i would inspect the CO2 / Carbon Monoxide detectors (and any others you may have, along with your Fire Extinguisher) - they normally have an expiration date printed on the front (Only bring this up since yours looks like one I had to replaced).

My SMB had a simple on/off switch for the radio. It switched the radio power supply from starter battery to house battery for obvious reasons.

The SMB installed radio switch is usually not mounted in that location and is a different switch that is also labeled Radio start/house.
Does that switch turn the stereo on when the van or acc is off to run from your house batt?
I installed a subwoofer in our camper that had that exact switch for on/off function, I would gather that’s what it is, does the van have a subwoofer? If not, it may have been removed, follow the wiring, see where it goes.

SMB Ford E-250 switch question.
Thanks so far, still not the answer I need, though.
I know the switch has nothing to do with the radio. I have a separate switch below the galley sink which switches the radio from van to house battery.
Best advice so far... I'll try to trace it!

Is that black switch wired into your battery separator by chance?

Problem Solved - Switch Identified
For some reason, a switch was added to turn on/off the white 120v Outlet. The Black outlet has GFI. Perhaps this was done for safety because the white outlet is in close proximity to the water tank and pressure system. Thanks for the replies. Craig

That looks like a 12vdc switch, not a 110vac switch (which would be needed for the outlet). Are you sure? The white outlet should be wired into and downstream of the GFI outlet to get fault protection.

I agree, that looks to be more of a volt switch. The white outlet. is certainly not part pf the standard Sportsmobile electrical. Is it possible that there is a small inverter installed, and that switch turns it on. This could be verified by turning on the switch and checking for AC power at the white outlet when not plugged into shore power.
