Circuit breakers not working - need help!

OK, so the other day down in Moab I found out that my 110 outlets
and/or inverter wasn't working, I had no power to the outlets. I
called SMB and spoke w/ one of the electricians - Bernie - and we
traced it to perhaps a bad GFI outlet. well, got back home and
installed a new GFI outlet, no luck.

Messing around w/ everything I realized that the circuit breakers were not doing a darn thing. cabin
lights, fridge etc... they all work w/ the breakers on or off, didn't matter if
they were up or down. Am I missing something here? Is there a hidden
trip switch or something? I poked around and it looks like all wires
are connected to something. Just hoping to resolve tonight if
possible, otherwise I'll call SMB again in the am when Bernie is back.

Thanks guys

D

D,

So your AC circuit breakers will not have any effect in your 12 volt lighting. If your fridge is 12 volts it will run also with the breakers on or off. After you installed the new GFI plug did you make sure you hit the reset button, that would be one possible cause. Are you plugged in or trying to use the inverter. There is actually one main 30Amp AC breaker that controls would feed the remaining breakers so both that and the 110 outlet breaker would have to be on for it to work. If in doubt, put them all on.

All is good!!

Leo from SMB called this morning and helped me through the process,
it turned out I still needed to trip the GFI outlet and it needed to
be plugged in to shore power to do so and yes, the circuit breakers only work when plugged in.

Thanks for helping this rookie out y'all
