Cruise Control not working
Tried to find a topic, but couldn't find one. The cruise control on my 2008 E350 stopped working this week. The manual doesn't spell out which fuse (if any) is for that system. Checked a few posts on other message boards, but haven't found anything helpful yet.
Everything else is working as near as I can tell. I don't get the green CC light either. I read that one of the common problems is the switch on the steering wheel. Just wondered if anyone else had solved this yet. Will probably take it to the dealer next week, but we are out in Lee Vining, CA and service is kind of hard to find out here.

Re: Cruise Control not working
Most likely the switch off the master cylinder went out. You can use a "jumper" to connect the switch to see if its the problem. If it is, the switch can be purchased from Amazon for about $20.

Re: Cruise Control not working
Thanks for the reply. I'll see if I can jumper it out to test it. I had some brake work done last week and they may have knocked something loose also.

Re: Cruise Control not working
FWIW, I moved all the connections I could find and jiggled a few things around, then tried pushing the cc "On" button pretty hard. It's working for pretty well for now, so who knows.

If it's intermittent, probably even more likely it's the master cylinder switch. Fooled even the Ford mechanics at my dealer (and me). I suggested it was the switch; they said clock switch. After that didn't work, back to the much easier fix on the master cylinder. In the end they ate a bunch of repair cost. Moral: start witht the cheapest, easiest fix. And it will probably go eventually anyway.

Re: Cruise Control not working
Thanks. Darn thing has been working for a week now, so maybe I can stall it until we get home.

reviving this thread. my cc stopped working over the weekend. went back to 2014 searching and this seems to be the most recent thread.
my van is older, an 03 w/7.3. was this an issue with my generation as well? good place to start troubleshooting for me? I do recall seeing where someone replaced buttons in steering wheel recently too, just don't remember where I read about it.

The CC worked intermittently or not at all on my van. Turned out the brake pressure switch on the master cylinder was the culprit. I used a small piece of wire to 'jumper' connect the female plug from the pressure switch. Works perfect now. It works so well replacing the switch has gone way down on my to-do list. Hopefully your issue is the same, and as easy.
