Re: dc-ac inverter/charger

Bernie: You may want to consider using your inverter (at least run a few basic tests) with the remaining single good battery to convince yourself it's not the inverter.

If you have the manual for the inverter, check out the section on setting the dip switches. There are a handful of dip switches that set many parameters for the inverter, like low AC/DC voltage switching, etc.

If you can describe the failure mode in more detail and let us know where the dip switches are presently set that would be very helpful.

Are they really Gel-cell batteries or AGM? I bought Gel-cells for my bass boat and they didn't last long at all. Later I found they need to be charged in a slightly different manor than Wet-cell or AGM's. It was a costly mistake on my part.

Re: dc-ac inverter/charger

I did test the remaining battery. Everything ran fine. When I had the batteries tested one was completely dead. Since the batteries are almost 3 years old I decided to replace both of them. To me it's the cost of doing business and peace of mind. I'm pretty familiar with the dip switch settings on the inverter but now I better understand how the whole thing works. Thanks for everyones help.
