Agreed. Sleeping with the SMB fan on is not possible. How does the noise from the fantastic fan compare?

Re: DC Powered fan thoughts?
Steve in LA,
The basic 4000 series Fantastic Vent on low is fairly quiet. Located at foot of bed can be on all night w/o noticing it.
The 6000 variable speed Fantastic Vent on any of the low settings is VERY quiet.
All models move lots of air, even on lower speeds.

Just the opposite for me, it puts me to sleep. A fan is no difference than a stream, babbling brook or ocean wave and cool is always better for me. Of course alcohol is better than any of those But something that rattles is another deal. My Fantastic Fan has a smooth sound.

Re: DC Powered fan thoughts?
The Fantasic "Vent" options need to be cut in roof/side?
I want a well made small 6-8" type oscillating, clip on, 12v. This way I can clip up top, bottom, toward driver, etc.....
Anything with a 12v plug meet this that I can get on line of good quality?

On a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being the noisy SMB fan) the Westmarine is a 3.

Re: DC Powered fan thoughts?
Two good sources for searching would be www.campingworld.com and www.amazon.com
we have purchased two or three fans since delivery of our Van and still trying to decide which
one we like the best . The Fan provided with our SportsMobile works but is a little on the noisy side for the amount of air that it moves . Our problem with a number of interior accessories is that we spend as little time as possible inside of the Van and end up carrying some items that are never put to use . I have never bought so many incidental accessories for a vehicle as we have for this SportsMobile that I end up giving away or storing , and we have had more than our share of
RV's and Boats ! I actually can't help myself anymore and it is all my Brides Fault , she made me Buy this vehicle !

I'd look at a truck driver site. Usually they demand better than average 12v items

Re: DC Powered fan thoughts?
Think I posted this in the home-built section a while back, but another option, that we ended up going for, is to wire the dash fan to the house battery (pretty easy by pulling the fan relay and jumpering a fused 12v from the house-bat into there).
The dash fan does always run when powered, so we replaced the resistive speed control with a PWM infinately variable regulator, but a switch on above mentioned power line should work as well.
Just turn it on and crack a window. No new holes, no new fans, ducting is already in place.
(nope, don't have a writeup on the website yet, never get around to writing much with 2 toddlers bouncing around)

DC Powered fan thoughts?
@Etbadger
No idea why this didn't even occur to be an option. I will look into this for my rig this summer.
Thanks.
